The journey begins .....

Over a year ago we decided we needed to embark on an epic sea kayak expeition ... somewhere ....

After much research, we decided New Zealand's South Island was the ultimate choice.

The extremely overwhelming challenging nature of this trip had captured us ....

Huge seas, remoteness, extreme winds, dumping surf ... a fair few challenges involved.

you may ask 'why not start on a slighty easier expedition?', or 'are you sure your ready?'

i can't exactly explain why ... but i think it's somehing to do with it is the sheer scope and intensity of the challenge that has us hooked and wanting to complete it.

There is something about stepping completley into the unknown, pushing yourself to your limits and succeeding yourself that is intensly rewarding!

Through small adventures we have experienced these kind of adventures, but never on such a huge adventure!

The thought is extremely exciting, yet slightly terrifying ... It is the unknown adventure.

Anyway, after a year of deliberating ....we have made an implusive dicision to put everything on hold, (wedding, work and life) and just do it.

Our thoughts were if we wait to long it might be to late and hard to take time off and blah blah blah ... basically 'we only live once, LETS DO IT NOW!' was how the conversation ended!
